How to use matcha
Make the most of matcha
In addition to drinking matcha as tea, there's no shortage of creative uses for the powder: whipped into lattes, infused into smoothies and dusted atop both sweet and savory dishes. The naturally sweet, grassy notes adapt well to food and drink making it a memorable flavour to showcase in a wide range of creations.

Modern preparation:

Using either a traditional bamboo whisk or electric frother
- Place 1/2 teaspoon (1g) of RAWCHA® matcha into a cup
- Add hot (75-80°C) water. Boiling water will destroy a lot of the tea's nutrients.
- Whisk vigorously until smooth
- Enjoy your matcha tea!
Matcha Latte
STEP 1 - STEP 2 - STEP 3
One of our personal favourites is the "matcha latte", typically enjoyed with soy, almond or rice milk (we discourage the use of cow's milk as it may destroy the tea's antioxidant benefit).
- Bring 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk, soy milk or rice milk to a bare simmer in a small pot over medium-high heat.
- Place 1/2 teaspoon of RAWCHA® matcha into a cup or glass. Slowly whisk in 1/4 cup hot water, then milk, tipping cup slightly to help create more foam. Sweeten with agave or honey to taste!
Chia puddings & Smoothies
Matcha also can give your smoothies and chia puddings that extra "oomph"!
Mango matcha chia pudding (serves 2-3):
1/2 teaspoon of RAWCHA® matcha
1/2 mango, peeled and chopped
3/4 cups coconut milk
1/4 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon of honey
3/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1 and a half tablespoon of chia seeds
Blend the first 8 ingredients on high speed until well incorporated. Transfer mixture to a bowl and thoroughly mix in the chia seeds, refrigerate overnight.
To be enjoyed at any time of the day.
